AUTONOMOUS ENERGY COURSE

Autonomous or isolated solar energy is a photovoltaic solar installation that is in operation by batteries powered by solar panels. This type of installations can be put anywhere it is required to have electrical energy and have total autonomy since thanks to the solar batteries that it incorporates, you can use the electricity generated, at the time that the user of the installation needs it, at any time of the day.

Duration: 6 Weeks.

Methodology: 100% Online.

This course will provide the student with an understanding of the fundamental concepts needed to work safely in battery-based FV systems; these include isolated (or autonomous) FV systems and network-connected, battery-backed IV systems. It studies the purpose, applications and design criteria required for the different components to be selected and integrated such as: charge controllers, batteries, PV configuration and battery-based inverters (very different from inverters connected to the grid). The information in this course will provide you with a theoretical understanding of battery-based PHOTOVOLTAIC systems that you can apply in real installations and practical applications. (This course has a pre-requisite)

Registration requirements

Admission: People with prior knowledge.

Education: High School.

This course is part of the GES training series. The student must have passed the online course to mains. This prerequisite could be replaced by a course of equivalent level from another school, passing a knowledge assessment defined by GES. In this way GES ensures the knowledge of the student in front of a basic advice with the clients, since many fundamental concepts of the course to electrical network are critical and will not be studied in the autonomous course.

The main objective of this course is to provide the student with the technical fundamentals necessary to understand the vast majority of battery-based PHOTOVOLTAIC systems on the market today. Specifically the student will learn the following: What are the different configurations of battery-based systems, delving into details such as which components they require, their schematics, the flow of power and energy, as well as advantages and limitations of each possible configuration. Identify the most important differences between direct interactive FV systems and battery-based FV systems. Perform an exhaustive load analysis considering: cyclic loads, phantom loads, power factor, starting peaks, seasonal loads, etc. Then identify which factors affect or do not affect the sizing of the inverter, generator, IV array and battery bank. Among other applications. You don't need to have specialized studies in some kind of bachelor's degree.

At the end of the course

Participation diploma: Digital (Optional physical at additional cost).
